王根緒，男，漢族，甘肅天水人，博士，研究員，博士生導師，中國科學院山地表生過程與生態調控重點實驗室主任，現任貢嘎山國家野外站站長和中科院山地所生態與水文研究室主任。國家傑出青年基金獲得者，中科院“百人計畫”入選者，國家“百千萬人才工程”人選以及四川省學術和技術帶頭人。兼任中國生態學會理事和生態水文學專業委員會主任、國際景觀生態學會中國分會副理事長等。主要從事生態水文學、全球變化與高山生態系統回響、山地生態水碳循環與環境變化等領域的研究工作。
2014年11月聘任為省政府參事。

1989.7－2005.12：蘭州大學資源環境學院工作，歷任講師、副教授和教授，水文與水資源工程系主任
2000.1－2004.12：中國科學院寒區旱區環境與工程研究所新研究員，博士導師
2006.1－至今：中國科學院成都山地災害與環境研究所，研究員，博士導師
承擔科研
先後共主持5項國家自然科學基金項目，其中重點基金項目1項，傑出青年基金1項；主持承擔國家重大基礎研究計畫（973）項目課題2項，主持承擔4項中國科學院知識創新重大方向項目。參與國家攻關計畫、國家支撐計畫、國家973計畫項目以及中科院重大項目等6項。
科研成果與學術榮譽
第一完成人獲得省部級科技進步和自然科學獎5項，其中一等獎1項、二等獎2項；獲得2009年度國際水環境聯盟（WEF）McKee獎。
1999年以來，在國內外主流學術刊物發表學術論文160餘篇，其中國際SCI檢索刊物發表論文40餘篇，EI檢索24篇，出版專著3部。
