《歐美經貿報刊閱讀與思考》適用於普通高等院校、高等職業學院、成人高等學校的商務英語專業大一、大二年級學生的必修課或專業選修課，也適用於這類學校非商務英語專業學生的任意選修課，同時也可作為愛好商務英語的在校大學生和公司商務人才的自學教材，或作為任何對國際商務感興趣的人員的閱讀材料。
每個單元的前兩篇文章後有“Read to Search”“Read to Think”和“Read to Create”三大練習。其中，“Read to Search”主要訓練學生蒐集、整理資料，以培養學生自主學習的能力；“Read to Think”是根據文章主題設計的開放式討論題，教師可根據課時安排課堂討論，也可作為學生課外的口語／書面作業；“Read to Create”主要培養學生的寫作能力。這三大練習有助於提升學生的商務英語讀寫能力。每個單元的三篇文章都附有參考譯文，其目的是幫助學生通過雙語對照理解英語原文。
