李太楓

李太楓（TyphoonLee，1948年7月5日－）是台灣知名的天文學家、地球化學家。台灣中央研究院院士。原籍江蘇常熟。主要研究是同位素地球化學和核天文物理學。

李太楓（Typhoon Lee，1948年7月5日－）是台灣知名的天文學家、地球化學家。台灣中央研究院院士。原籍江蘇常熟。主要研究是同位素地球化學和核天文物理學。

人物經歷

李太楓的父親李德是知名畫家，母親是圖書館員，和中國知名天文學家張鈺哲有親戚關係。李太楓於1970年取得國立清華大學物理學士學位。1977年取得德克薩斯州大學奧斯汀分校天文博士學位。1984年回台灣在中央研究院地球科學研究所任研究員。並在國立台灣大學地質系及物理系兼任教授，及在中央研究院天文及天文物理研究所任合聘研究員。曾擔任過地球科學研究所副所長、所長，和天文所籌備處主任。

研究領域

證明了早期太陽系中有鋁-26放射性核種的存在。

協助發展球粒隕石形成的理論，並發現其中有氧、鎂、鈣、鑭等同位素異常，及探討了他們與銀河系中原子核形成的關係。

利用同位素方法，研究東亞大陸地殼的演化歷史，島弧岩漿的來源，和過去的氣候環境變化。

探索宇宙誕生之謎

台 灣 中 央 研 究 院 第 23 屆 新 科 數 理 組 院 士 李 太 楓 今 年 (2000 年) 7 月 中 旬 接 受 媒 體 訪 問 時 指 出， 未 來 十 年 是 天 文 發 展 的 高 峰 期， 美 國 太 空 船 會 從 彗 星 表 面 帶 回 微 塵 標 本， 太 陽 系 行 星 演 化 的 謎 團， 有 一 部 分 將 被 解 開。李 太 楓 是 國 際 知 名 的 天 文 物 理 學 家， 他 曾 主 導 籌 設 台 灣 中 央 研 究 院 天 文 與 天 文 物 理 研 究 所， 也 是 至 今 唯 一 在 台 灣 工 作 時 當 選 為 美 國 國 家 科 學 院 院 士 的 學 者。 其 當 選 美 國 國 科 院 院 士 的 理 由 是： 協 助 發 展 球 粒 隕 石 形 成 的 理 論， 發 現 其 中 有 氧、 鎂、 鈣、 鑭 等 同 位 素 異 常 現 象， 探 討 它 們 與 銀 河 系 中 原 子 核 的 形 成 關 系。

李 太 楓 從 小 就 喜 歡 天 文， 里 面 蘊 藏 的 故 事、 星 球 起 源 總 能 讓 他 興 趣 盎 然。 由 於 母 親 是 北 一 女 圖 書 館 管 理 員， 李 太 楓 小 時 候 有 很 多 機 會 閱 讀 自 己 喜 歡 的 天 文 書 籍， 而 其 父 親 是 位 畫 家， 重 視 心 靈 追 求 活 動， 因 此 不 會 阻 止 他 追 求 一 些 "沒 有 用 的 學 問"， 這 就 造 就 了 李 太 楓 今 日 在 天 文 領 域 的 卓 越 成 就。

對 於 李 太 楓 來 說， 研 究 天 文 對 人 生 觀 的 形 成 有 很 大 幫 助。 宇 宙 如 此 之 大， 存 在 數 十 億 年， 相 較 之 下， 人 生 實 在 太 渺 小 了； 沉 浸 天 文 領 域 久 了， 心 胸 會 比 較 寬 廣 一 些。 他 說， "宇 宙 這 么 大， 時 間 又 久 遠， 若 能 探 索 出 宇 宙 誕 生 的 過 程， 成 就 感 難 以 形 容！" 他 強 調， 老 天 做 的 事， 比 人 類 想 像 的 要 奇 妙 很 多， 如 果 能 探 索 出 其 中 道 理， 會 有 很 大 的 滿 足 感。

李太楓

李 太 楓 說， 天 文 現 象 蘊 藏 許 多 有 趣 的 故 事， 它 是 吸 引 年 輕 人 進 入 基 礎 科 學 領 域 很 好 的 媒 介。 天 文 跟 數 學、 物 理、 地 球 科 學 都 相 關， 若 能 好 好 推 廣， 對 台 灣 整 體 科 學 發 展 有 很 大 幫 助。李 太 楓 指 出， 目 前 台 灣 喜 歡 天 文 的 人 很 多， 每 遇 到 流 星 雨、 彗 星 通 過， 都 會 有 一 大 堆 人 背 著 望 遠 鏡 追 逐， 形 成 熱 潮。 但 最 大 的 問 題 是， 很 多 學 術 性 的 天 文 資 料， 相 關 單 位 沒 有 花 足 夠 的 功 夫， 以 淺 顯、 生 動 的 方 式 表 達 出 來， 形 成 普 及 化 的 障 礙。 他 說， 國 外 大 學 喜 歡 將 天 文 學 擺 在 通 識 教 育 課 程， 吸 引 學 生 選 修， 帶 動 天 文 探 討 的 風 氣。 在 台 灣， 很 多 人 對 天 文 有 興 趣， 但 這 方 面 的 人 才 不 多， 沒 辦 法 傳 承， 相 關 知 識 也 缺 乏 有 系 統 的 整 理， 實 在 可 惜。

對 於 天 文 學 發 展， 李 太 楓 指 出， 未 來 十 年 可 望 有 重 大 突 破。 美 國 在 1999 年 2 月 發 射 太 空 船， 預 計 在 2004 年 與 一 顆 彗 星 相 遇， 屆 時 會 帶 回 該 彗 星 表 面 100 公 里 以 內 的 微 塵 標 本， 對 解 開 太 陽 系 之 謎 有 很 大 幫 助。 全 世 界 天 文 界 現 在 都 在 招 兵 買 馬， 一 場 天 文 競 賽 已 悄 悄 展 開。 為 迎 接 這 場 天 文 學 盛 會， 李 太 楓 不 落 人 後， 目 前 正 設 計 可 以 測 出 一 兆 分 之 一 公 克 的 儀 器， 並 進 行 新 分 析 方 法 的 研 究， 以 便 屆 時 大 展 身 手， 對 彗 星 微 塵 做 深 入 剖 析， 使 台 灣 在 國 際 天 文 學 界 更 有 份 量。

李 太 楓 目 前 除 繼 續 研 究 太 陽 系 形 成， 還 利 用 同 位 素 方 法， 研 究 亞 洲 大 陸 的 演 化 歷 史 和 過 去 的 氣 候 變 化。 他 也 以 此 同 位 素 法， 對 海 水、 溫 度、 珊 瑚 年 輪 進 行 分 析， 觀 察 過 去 一、 兩 百 年 台 灣 附 近 海 域 的 水 溫 變 化， 嘗 試 為 台 灣 環 境 變 遷 與 氣 候 之 間 的 關 連， 找 出 答 案。
