《探索數學：吸引人的證明方式（英文）》作者有兩位，一位是約翰·邁耶（John Meier），拉斐特學院數學教授，他還曾在該校擔任課程主任。他的研究集中在幾何群理論，並涉及算法、組合、幾何和拓撲中出現的無限群問題，除了獲得康奈爾大學和拉斐特學院的教學獎之外，邁耶教授還自豪地獲得了美國數學協會賓夕法尼亞州東部和德拉瓦州分校的詹姆斯·克勞福德教學獎。
