《抑制機制與外語閱讀研究》基於Gernsbacher1990年提出的結構建構(Structure Building)理論進一步探討了英語閱讀、心理表征建構與英語語言水平之間的內在聯繫。在研究過程中,作者進行了英語水平和英語閱讀測試,經過對測試數據的分析、推理、歸納,作者得出了研究結論:1.英語閱讀直接受心理表征建構的影響;2.心理表征建構直接受英語語言水平的影響;3.英語閱讀直接受英語語言水平的制約。
