In this book, 40 stories have been carefully selected from the “Real China and Real People” column (China.org.cn). These stories have been organized into the following eight categories: Old Heroes, Joy and Sorrow, Village Teachers, Devoted Craftsmen, Dedicated Professionals, New Generations, In Pursuit of Dreams, and Never Too Old.
These stories illuminate the changes over time, reflect China’s development, and highlight the Chinese Dream of ordinary Chinese people.

《世相》是中國網新聞中心的原創圖片紀實類欄目，創建於2014年，每周更新兩期。欄目定位於人物類深度圖片報導，結合熱點講述中國各階層人物的個體或群像故事。
欄目擁有包括資深媒體攝影記者、專業攝影師以及中國網記者在內的優秀攝影師團隊和編輯團隊。
2016年該欄目獲得了中華全國新聞工作者協會組織評選的第二十六屆中國新聞獎一等獎。
“Real China and Real People” is an original photography column, founded in 2014 by China.org.cn, updated twice weekly. Its purpose is to collect in-depth photography reports to present the stories of people of all ages and from all circles of society.
“Real China and Real People” is fortunate to have an outstanding group of photographers, including senior press photographers, professional photographers, and reporters from China.org.cn. In addition, the column benefits from having an excellent group of editors.
In 2016, the “Real China and Real People” column won first prize at the 26th China News Awards (awarded by the All China Journalists Association [ACJA]).
