主要科研簡歷及成果
1989年以前從事晚第三紀湖相腹足類和第四紀海相有孔蟲化石的研究。1989年以後以陸相環境記錄為主,研究晚新生代以來,特別是第四紀以來風塵沉積中的生物化石,著重於黃土陸生軟體動物化石的研究。特色從生物學的角度研究晚新生代以來東亞地區環境的形成演化歷史及其與全球變化的關係。先後主持和參加了多項國家自然科學基金委,中國科學院重大項目和國家重點基礎研究發展規劃項目。已發表研究論文40餘篇。

選擇晚新生代以來陸相風塵沉積中陸生軟體動物化石作為研究對象,開展系統的黃土生物地層學研究工作。從現生黃土蝸牛化石組合著手,確定現生蝸牛組合與氣候環境因子的定量關係。建立晚中新世以來蝸牛化石的組合序列,定性-半定量的恢復地質歷史時期氣候環境狀況,在軌道時間尺度上探討東亞冬夏季風變化的階段性、周期性,及季節性變化特徵,在百-千年時間尺度上探索黃土高原的溫濕度的不同時性,探討特徵時段黃土高原區域性的氣候環境狀況及可能的原因與機制。
