shell 3 mm long and 5 mm wide, hinge line shorter than greatest width at shell midlength, transversely elliptical in outline; strongly geniculate in profile. ventral valve in our material commonly broken along margin of corpus. dorsal visceral disk nearly flat or slightly concave; ears very small; dorsalsurface with fine and irregular concentric lines; spines absent or not preserved; dorsal interior with a distinct marginal ridge transverselyextending along hinge line, across ears, and continued along anterior margin; median septum short, beginning from cardinal process and extending anteriorly to one-third of valve; a pair of ear-shaped adductor scars well developed, surrounded by ridges; a few coarse endospines present in front of adductor scars;brachial scars strong and circular in outline, slightly elevated andconsisting of numerous endospines.
