早年生活

勞瑞·侯登擁有美國加拿大雙重國籍。她於1969-12-17出生於美國加州。父母分別是演員Glen Corbett和Adrienne Ellis。父母離異後，母親再婚嫁給導演麥可·安德森。她的第一個角色是在The Martian Chronicles 火星編年史(1980)里扮演麥可·安德森的女兒。

畢業於U.C.L.A 美國加州大學-洛杉磯分校，是國家榮譽協會成員，同時獲得過著名的娜塔莉表演獎。此後她就讀於哥倫比亞大學，並獲得人權專業碩士學位。

勞瑞·侯登是加拿大 Somaly Mam Foundation 索馬里-馬姆基金會 創始成員之一，同時也是該基金會在美國諮詢委員會委員之一。

演藝經歷

勞瑞·侯登出演眾多影視作品，並收到眾多影評人好評，稱其角色選擇多樣，不拘一格。在她早年職業生涯里，在Vanessa Redgrave 短劇中扮演年輕的凱薩琳，和William Shatner 威廉·夏特納出演電影TekWar的實物證據（1989年）在電視電影的探路者（1996年）中扮演梅布爾鄧納姆一角。

此後，在眾多影視作品中客串角色。在科幻系列X檔案中， 塑造經典角色 瑪麗塔Covarrubias。還出演翻拍MGM 米高梅的經典影視劇classic The Magnificent Seven(1998–2000) ,CBS。

霍頓的最知名的角色之一，是和金凱瑞一同主演電影在The Majestic 電影人生（2001）。同時還有與Dean Cain聯合主演的加拿大的喜劇貝利億美元（2004年）。其他令人難忘的角色，包括神奇四俠（2005）（她扮演了MichaelChiklis“前女友）。在驚悚片寂靜嶺Silent Hill（2006）扮演英勇的女警察CybilBennett。在根據史蒂芬·金作品改編電影的迷霧（2007）中扮演Jane簡。在根據漫畫改編的電視劇行屍走肉The Walking Dead 中出演Andrea一角。
