凱迪克大獎是美國最具權威的繪本獎,而該獎之所以能夠脫穎而出,獲得一致推崇,主要在於其評選標準的周延與創新,著重作品的藝術價值、特殊創意,尤其每一本得獎作品都必須有“寓教於樂”的功能,讓孩子在閱讀的過程中,開發另一個思考空間,已有六十餘年歷史的凱迪克大獎,是為了紀念十九世紀英國的繪本畫家倫道夫·凱迪克而設立的。
