本書為英文版教材,是參考近年來國外出版的20多本英文原版專著和教材編寫而成的。
全書共分為三部分:第一部分介紹了計算機在製造業中的作用,並對網際網路的誕生、歷史沿革和結構作了初步介紹;第二部分主要介紹CAD/CAM、數控加工、柔性製造系統、計算機集成製造系統和高速切削加工;第三部分是全書的重點,系統介紹了近年來先進制造技術的幾個主要內容——敏捷製造、增材製造、基於環境意識的設計與製造、納米技術和微納製造、生物製造和智慧型製造。為便於讀者學習,在本書的每一章末都對一些疑難句子作了詳細注釋,並在書後附有本書的總辭彙表和AMT常用縮略語。 本書可作為機械設計製造及其自動化、測控技術與儀器、工業工程、環境工程等專業的高年級本科生的雙語教材,也可用作其他相關專業人員的現代製造技術英文培訓教材。
