《侯伯宇論文選集》編輯推薦：侯伯宇潛心於量子場論和數學物理的研究，工作於這些方面的最前沿，在群表示理論、磁單極子、可積場論模型、量子反常、量子群、統計模型和共形場論等方面取得了一系列極為重要的成果，得到了國內外理論物理界的高度評價。他是我國理論物理事業的優秀學術帶頭人之一，為我國理論物理隊伍培養了一大批人才，特別是到西北大學後，對於得到廣泛認可的我國理論物理“西北軍”的形成，作出了重大貢獻，他的學生遍布全國乃至國外。
