理學博士、教授，蔬菜學博士研究生導師。兼任湖南省園藝學會副理事長，《中國瓜菜》編委。湖南省新世紀121人才工程第二層次人選，湖南省青年科技獎獲得者，湖南省青年骨幹教師。
主持學院行政工作;負責發展規劃與學科建設、開發、人事、財務、資產、師資培養、外事等工作。
