《二語構式知識習得中的頻次效應研究》通過實證手段探討成年課堂二語（英語）學習者構式知識的構建與習得，尤其是將構式知識分為顯性知識和隱性知識來分別考察，這樣的做法尚不多見。另外，目前國內外都已出現一些圍繞頻次效應開展的實證研究，但到目前為止，針對練習頻次對英語構式知識習得作用的研究還很少。他的研究考慮到基於使用的語言習得理論在二語習得中的複雜性，在探究頻次對不同語言知識作用的同時，試圖揭示影響頻次效應的構式特點和學習者因素。以便為更有針對性地組織英語教學提供依據。
