Abstract | Thirty species of Lactarius are reported in present paper. Lactarius atrovelutinus ying and Lactarius hirtipes are described as new to science, twenty eight species of lactarius as new to China.Lactarius atrovelutinus Ying is charcterized by small, blackish brown minutely velventy pileus and stipes, latex and context white then changing pinkish, white to pinkish cinnamon lamellae and globosereticulate spores. It is readily distinguished from Lactarius subgrrardii Hesier et Smith by the changing context and latex, and the globose spores with complete reticulum. The dry, velvety and darkcolored pileus, cuticle with Virescens stucture and the latex changing cinnamon, indicate that this species belongs in Section plinthogal, subsection, Fuliginosi. Lactarius hirtipes Ying may be recognized by the dry, umbellcate or depressed, azonate cinnamon rufous pileus, somewhat cinnamon tinted whitish iameliae, white latex, strigose stipes, fragrantof camphor and structure of pileus cuticle. It is best placed in Section Russulares. It seems to be close to Lactarius atlanticus var. Strigpes Bon, except the different color and odor, especially themicroscopic features, i.e. cystidia and larger spore present in the new species. it is somewhat related with lactarius camphoratus (Bull.:Fr.) Fr., but differs from the latter in the strigose stipe and thecinnamon rufous color, the larger spores and pleurocystidia. In short, the spore size, the pleurocystisia and color of basidioma prevent assignment to either species. Characters, limits, as well as practical importance of this genus are also desceibed briefly. All the specimens cited above are deposited in the Herbarium Mycologicum Instituti Microbiological, Academia Sinica (HMAS). |
