劇情簡介
達利與史托茲是鎮上的兩大匪徒首腦，私酒買賣是他們爭奪的最厲害的生意。也許是天意使然，就在大幫派如火如荼地大搞非法生意的同時，鎮上來了一名尋求一夜棲身的神秘陌生人。他自稱史密斯，粗獷的外型讓人覺得他是名罪犯，走久了江湖，任何的風吹草動都逃不過他銳利的眼神，他那識途老馬敏感度馬上便意識到鎮上瀰漫著一股邪惡之氣，於是他委身於兩大幫派之間，史密斯如何力保自己成為槍戰中倖免於死的人？

幕後製作
很明顯本片從黑澤明的經典影片《用心棒》中獲益良多，可惜未能青出於藍而勝於藍，即便請來布魯斯·威利斯壓陣，也不能掩蓋其三流作品的命運。同是取法於《用心棒》，塞爾吉奧·萊奧內的《荒野大鏢客》的水準令人滿意得多。
